Website Design by Oliver Reeve

You've either stumbled across me or were meant to find me, either way you are here and I'm glad. This website contains my freshest and most recent work. On this page you'll find a little about what I do and something about this site. Navigation wise take a look at my portfolio to see what kind of work I have crafted. If you care to hear, click about me. Don't forget I make websites! So contact me if you have an enquiry.

Am I any good?

Well my websites are hand-crafted and built using the latest standards of mark-up (that's what websites are made of). They are reliable and finely tuned. And because they are hand-coded there is no room for error or bugs that can interfere if you are using DIY web design software. When I'm building a website my whole heart goes into it & rarely am I satisfied with it before a client is. To me each web site should be a triumph & if my sites aren't close to it then i'm not satisfied.

About this site

As you can see my website has had a makeover since last time you were here. So why did I change it... well the old site looked visually better & I preferred it but it was slow-loading due to being packed with images. If I was a graphic designer then that would be okay but I'm not!

With this redesign I tried to head towards making it more accessible for smaller/bigger screens, different browsers, screen readers etc.

Also I've put everything I know about CSS into this site using new CSS3 techniques. Not only to show what is possible with CSS but to test my own level & capabilities. If you're viewing this site in the latest versions of...

you'll notice the difference and the capabilities of CSS3.

The CSS is imported from another stylesheet on this page so you won't be able to see it, but if you want you can click here to download it.

Valid HTML 4.01 Strict

I'm also a believer in W3C standards so check this website to see if it validates as HTML 4.01 strict.

This blog will probably be updated quite frequently with mostly random stuff but if you check back enough you might actually find something useful.

You can see how I'm getting along with the drupal version of the site here. It still needs a bit of work but I hope to get it changed over soon.

I'm going to be converting this site to a Drupal one soon to test my skills. Drupal is an impressive CMS and you can do just about anything with it, check back soon to see what's possible.

flower blossoming

AQUAGEM is complete now. You can check it out here. I still need to optimize the code and take care of some lousy Internet Exporer bugs but we're almost there now.

small house in the middle of a lake

I knew that learning a programming language would be hard and when you start without any prior knowledge it truly is mind-boggling but sometimes things just suddenly start making sense. I'm not sure if it's persistance, patience or a bit of both but it's working!

I'm happy, this site now works cross browser, even Internet Explorer 5 looks passable! From the tests I've run it seems to be okay. So for all you people who still use the old versions of IE you should still be getting a good viewing experience!

my cat winston

This version is finally live so welcome! You're one of the lucky few to have first seen it up and running if you're close to the above date. Summers coming when my cat stops hibernating under the radiator.
